Will Hanisch is an entertainment and digital media attorney who works where creators meet traditional Hollywood, and his clients include some of the most-watched names in digital entertainment. These clients range from several of the top 20 most-watched channels on YouTube and top 50 podcasts on Spotify and Apple to some of the most popular IPs on Roblox and Minecraft.

Will specializes in turning creator-born properties into cross-platform entertainment franchises, whether it’s taking creator IP and putting it on retail shelves or opening up collaborations between established traditional brands and the audiences who crave a fresh perspective. He has guided some of the largest IPs to significant platform agreements, transmedia narrative rollouts/refreshes, and beyond.

Will co-founded GreenRoom Legal in 2019 to make sure that modern storytellers are able to maximize the opportunities while protecting themselves from the common and uncommon pitfalls of the entertainment business.

Will speaks frequently on content-creation legal issues and dealmaking, including at VidCon and VidSummit. His topics include IP ownership, platform and brand deal structure, and how creators can move into film, television, gaming, and consumer products.

Outside his practice, Will builds and advises other businesses and is an avid consumer of stories in every form: books, digital content, television, and film. Will is an avid hiker and loves to play Magic: The Gathering in his free time.

Joe sees the best in people and loves helping them achieve their dreams.  He has served entrepreneurs for over 25 years, guiding and supporting them to not just grow their revenues, but also create cultures that drive employees to want to stay and grow with the businesses. He is all about creating lasting, mutually beneficial relationships between brands like Coldwell Banker and UPS Store and their many constituents, whether it be customers, employees, franchisees, shareholders, or vendors. He helped leading direct response advertising company, Money Mailer, quadruple in size, while shepherding life-changing purchase transactions for over 15 of its largest regional franchisees.

Since co-founding Greenroom in 2019, he has used the above skills to help players in the creator economy.  He has taken one client in particular to new heights in its existing businesses while helping it develop new businesses that have forged strategic partnerships with some of the biggest creators and brands in the industry.  

He has a passion for helping his clients understand the power of collaboration and “the speed of trust” to forge the best deals. He has applied this on transactions large and small, including brand, licensing, and syndication agreements to franchise development, intellectual property, and M&A transactions. Joe demystifies the practice of law for his clients to make sure the core purpose of the deal is not lost in the legalese.

Outside the office, Joe and his two daughters serve as leaders for Orange Spirit Nation, a Southern California dads and daughters camping and community service organization. He also is active in his local community, planning social events throughout the year to make sure neighborhoods are a place where everybody knows your name. Joe enjoys writing comedy and has also acted as a host, emcee, officiant, content creator and performer for a variety of corporate and other events (including four weddings) over the past 20 years.

John Meehan advises athletes on building, owning, and monetizing their intellectual property.

John is a dealmaker who helps athletes operate like modern creators, turning attention into long-term enterprise value. He leads Greenroom’s Sports Practice and extends the firm’s digital-native focus into the sports world.

As General Counsel and Director of Combat Sports at Paradigm Sports, John spent the past decade representing world-class athletes and structuring some of the most significant deals in the history of combat sports worldwide. He also served as the primary point of contact with outside counsel across litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters, overseeing complex disputes and helping guide strategy at the highest levels.

John’s practice centers on NIL, athlete monetization, and brand partnerships. He has negotiated and structured high-value sponsorships, licensing agreements, and media-driven deals, while advising athletes on joint ventures and business structures that position them as owners in their brands and IP. John enjoys building deals that create leverage now and ownership long-term, with a clear understanding of how those deals perform under pressure.
